Therapy Support for College Transitioning

The transition to college is an important milestone, but it can also bring unique challenges. Many students experience difficulties with managing increased independence, adjusting to new academic expectations, developing effective study and organizational strategies, and balancing relationships. These challenges can feel overwhelming, especially when combined with the pressure to succeed.

Dr. Jennifer Pappachristou provides individualized therapy support rooted in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), a practice and evidence-based approach that helps students build awareness of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Through therapy, students learn strategies to:
   •   Strengthen executive functioning skills such as organization, time management, and task initiation
   •   Manage stress, anxiety, and adjustment concerns
   •   Improve communication and relationship skills
   •   Develop problem-solving abilities and resilience in the face of setbacks

In addition to one-on-one support, students receive guidance on how to effectively access campus resources, including academic advising, disability services, wellness programs, and peer networks.

Our goal is to empower students to navigate college successfully while fostering growth, independence, confidence, and overall well-being.
